Welcome to the William Cecil

The William Cecil at Stamford re-opened in late July 2011 after a complete refurbishment inside and out. The hotel lies within the magnificent Burghley Estate, the centrepiece of which is Burghley House, one of the foremost Treasure Houses of the United Kingdom. Add this to the beauty of Stamford and The William Cecil must be one of the best located hotels in the country.

Within a two minute drive from the A1, the hotel, formerly known as The Lady Anne's Hotel, is perfect for both leisure and business uses. Add an ounce of magic, a sprinkle of quirkiness, a tablespoon of shabby-chic, a gram of eccentricity, a dollop of luxury and a mound of charm and you get a Hillbrooke Hotel.

Our restaurant does recipes too – local, fresh and seasonal. Completely delicious. We love making people happy at weddings and private parties - and we know that when you can’t get time off for these celebrations, you may want to have business meetings and corporate days out, which you'll want to hold in a thought-provoking and relaxed environment.

We can’t do it all though so we have had to make some hard decisions: no chintz; no drizzles, towers or stacks; no Magners; no managers in suits; no staff name badges; no mini-bars; no compulsory service charge... Sorry.
